Some of Donegal’s leading tourism representatives are singing the praises of the north west today at a major event.
Hotel and tourism service staff from across the county are in Killarney today and tomorrow attending Meitheal, Ireland’s largest business to business International Travel Trade Fair.
Meitheal is a two-day face-to-face workshop that gives the Irish tourism industry and overseas tourism buyers from over 20 different countries the opportunity to meet and do business.
Donegal ambassadors representing the ‘Coolest Place on the Planet’ include Elaine McInaw (Donegal Hotel Collection – Abbey Hotel & Central Hotel), Denis Mulhern (Triona & Sliagh Liag Visitor Centre), Stephen Bell (Lough Eske Castle), Sheila Russell (Harvey’s Point), Vicky Kee (Kees Hotel), Patricia Kelly (Mulroy Woods Hotel), Joleene McDermott (Inishowen Gateway) and Aidan Haughey (Sliagh Liag Tours).
It is the first time in three years that Meitheal is taking place in person. The event attracts around 700 participants each year, made up of approximately 300 overseas buyers and 400 Irish industry partners. Over 13,500 appointments are conducted over the two days with many new and important contracts signed.
