Erin McLaughlin got her second goal of the season as Peamount United beat Wexford 4-0 in a big game in the Women’s National League.
It’s two goals in three starts this season and what could have been three goals for the Culdaff woman as she hit the shot for the opener in last weeks 3-2 win over Dublin Waves which was credited as an own goal.
Last season, Peamount finished second on 60 points a point behind winners Shelbourne, while Wexford weren’t far behind in third on 55 points so it’s a big result for the Dublin club as they make it five wins from five.
McLaughlin scored the third goal for her side on the 67th minute against Wexford at PRL Park last night.
Sadhbh Doyle opened the scoring for Peamount before Stephanie Roche doubled their lead. McLaughlin was subbed off on the 85th minute but Áine O’Gorman made it 4-0 in added time.
McLaughlin was selected for the Republic of Ireland Women’s squad in late 2021 as she featured in their three round 1 games for the under-19 European Championships and she has now been called up to the squad for round 2.
