Ronan Boyce got his first goal of the season as Derry City extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division with a dramatic 2-1 win over Bohemians.

Liam Burt gave Bohs the lead after a brilliant team goal and the Dublin club went into half-time in the lead .

However, Ramelton man Boyce scored his first goal of the 2022 campaign as he got on the end of a Cameron McJannett cross just before the hour mark.

Boyce had a great 2021 season where he was named in the PFAI Team of the Year as he scored seven league goals from defence.

He was rewarded for his great year by being given a new 4-year-contract by his club, as they look to keep him until at least 2025.

Derry then went on to win 2-1 in the last minute of added time as James Akintunde scored a back post header from a set-piece.
