The Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) comes to an end today after two years.
Fnal payments were made to the remaining 44,747 claimants last week.
PUP recipients, if eligible, will move onto a jobseeker payment from today.
Over €9.1 billion has been paid out in PUP payments since the support was introduced in March 2020. At its peak in May 2020, there were 22,725 workers receiving the payment in Donegal.
The Enhanced Illness Benefit for people isolating with Covid-19 has been extended until June 2022. The support is paid at €350 per week. This scheme will continue to support people who are diagnosed with Covid-19 or who need to self-isolate in line with HSE guidelines or the advice of a GP.
