The ‘Move for Ukraine’ fundraiser held in St. Eugene’s Hall, Moville on Sunday 10th April raised a grand total of €2,105.23 for the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.

Organiser of the ‘Move for Ukraine’ Fundraiser Kasia Brol extended a thank you from the bottom of her heart to all that supported the fundraiser in any way.

From those that supported Kasia with the organising, the instructors who gave up their time on a Sunday, the fantastic local businesses who supported the raffle and supplies baked goods, the schools in Carn and Moville who created decorations and the people that helped decorate the hall.

A thank you also went out to Skellys buses who brought the Ukrainian guests to enjoy the day, all the volunteers who gave up their time so it could run smoothly and especially to everyone who took part in sharing the day in any way from donations, purchasing raffle tickets, joining in the activities and staying for a tea or coffee.

Support was from across the peninsula and into Derry and beyond.

Kasia said: “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.

I’m so lucky to live in such a great community and be surrounded by beautiful people with big open hearts.

“Last Sunday April the 10th we came together to show our love and support for Ukraine and our Ukrainian friends.

It was an absolute pleasure and honour to have our Ukrainian guests currently staying at the Malin Town Hotel with us.

I heard lots of stories, we cried together but also we had lots of laughter together and seeing their smiling faces even for a couple of hours was priceless. When a community comes together only wonderful things happens.

“I would love to thank you all from the bottom of my heart to everyone who supported me, helped me make this happen and everyone who came along, bought the raffle ticket or kindly made donations.

“We raised together an amazing €2,105.23 and all money goes to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Appeal”.
