The Burtonport Community Garda team has issued some helpful security advice for all boat owners.

Every year, particularly in the spring and summer, the guards receive reports in relation to the theft of boats, boat trailers, outboard motors and electronic/safety equipment.

“There are measures that can be taken to protect your valuable property and reduce the risk of theft,” a garda spokesperson said.

“By improving your security measures, you will greatly reduce your risk of falling victim to a crime.”

You can read the wide ranging security tips Here.
