There was a major buzz around Letterkenny this week after a new beekeeping association was set up!
As the interest in the activity has been gathering momentum in recent times, local beekeepers Fergal and Svetlana Megannety felt it was time for a new club in Letterkenny.
So once word got out, several fellow beekeepers expressed an interest and the new North West Beekeepers Association was formed.
“The main aims of the club are for members to get together to learn from and help each other, to help newcomers and to create public awareness of the problems facing our bees and other important pollinators,” a spokesperson for the group said.
New members are welcome to join, whether you are already keeping bees or maybe thinking about setting up a hive or two.
