Plans for massive extension to local secondary school

Plans have been submitted for a major extension to one of Donegal’s largest secondary schools.

St Columba’s College, Stranorlar, is seeking permission for the demolition of existing prefabs to make way for a 7,000 square metre (75,000 sq fr) block.

The new extension will comprise eight general classrooms as well as 18 specialist rooms, a PE hall, library and staff rooms.

School management is also seeking permission to renovate the existing building at Drumboe Avenue.
