A total of 11 people were arrested for drink or drug driving across Donegal over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend so far.
Gardai say the drivers will face fines, court prosecution and possible disqualifications from driving.
The arrests come despite repeated warnings that Gardai will be out in force on the county’s roads operating random checkpoints.
A spokesperson again reinforced the message that one wrong decision could have serious consequences for drivers and the public.
The spokesperson said “When you take risks on the road, you risk your life and the lives of all other road users.
“Please never drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The consequences of drink/drug driving and/or speed can be totally devastating.
“One poor decision could have life changing results for you and others.
“Please always drive with care and consideration and help save lives. Never ever drive while under the influence.”
