Ollie Horgan says that injuries and suspensions can’t be used as an excuse after Finn Harps lost 1-0 to Sligo Rovers.
The Harps manager was disappointed with his sides first half performance but was not ready to use excuses of injuries and suspensions.
Finn Harps were missing Eric McWoods and Ryan Rainey who picked up red cards in Friday’s 2-2 draw with Bohemians, while Elie N’Zeyi was suspended for picking up six yellow cards.
José Carrillo was named to start and got injured in the warm-up, with Erol Alkan replacing him, while Ryan Connolly was taken off after picking up an injury in the first 20 minutes.
David Webster and Conor Tourish both missed out with injuries.
Horgan said: “The first half performance was as poor as I’ve seen in years which was hugely disappointing, alarming and worrying.”
“In the second half, if we had taken our chances and scored early we might have got a winner but I don’t think it would’ve been deserved.”
He added: “You can say we had seven players out but it’s not an excuse, there are lads itching to get out and have waited their turn and it took them at half time to show what they can do.”
