They came hoping for a sneak peak of a Hollywood hearthrob and Liam Neeson didn’t disappoint.

Curious locals and visitors have swung by Glencolmcille this week in the hope of seeing the famous actor shooting scenes for his latest movie.

Donegal Daily exclusively revealed last December that Neeson was to shoot the movie.

A cast and crew of around 300 people have descended on the area to shoot scenes for the action adventure ‘In the land of Saints and Sinners.’

Many gathered outside Roarty’s Bar in the village where Neeson and co shot scenes for the film in recent days.

And the patient bystanders were rewarded when the veteran actor broke with work to say hello and wave at fans.

He even managed to blow a kiss at a lucky few before being whisked away in a waiting car.

Filming on the movie, which also stars Ciaran Hinds, is expected to last until the beginning of June.
