The future of the Mary from Dungloe Festival could hang in the balance due to a lack of volunteers.
The international festival has been held annually in Dungloe since 1967, bringing a major economic boost to the town. But low interest from the community has thrown doubt on this year’s events.
The committee issued an urgent appeal for organisers and volunteers to ensure the survival of the festival.
They are hosting an emergency meeting this evening, 6pm Monday 25th April in Ionad Teampall Chróine, Dungloe to discuss their options.
“Without the support of the community the festival cannot continue. Don’t leave it to ‘someone’ to help, you are ‘someone’,” the committee said.
