Tír Chonaill AC are hosting the Ballyshannon 5k this Friday evening at 7.30pm in what is the fastest 5k in the North West.
With the success of their Easter Monday 5k race in Glenties, the club are taking this one to the streets of Ballyshannon.
Sean McGinley of Finn Valley AC won that Easter Monday 5k with a time of 15:55, followed by Tír Chonaill duo Martin Cunningham 16:13 and Cathal O’Donnell (16:44).
Fionnuala Diver of Rosses AC was just ahead of Tír Chonaill’s Ciara Cunningham as the first woman home, finishing in 19:37 and 19:38 respectively.
The times are expected to be quicker on Friday, in what is officially known as the fastest 5k in the North West, as recently remeasured by Athletics Ireland.
