Will this Friday the 13th be lucky for some as Ray National School brings the hugely popular “The Chaser” show to Letterkenny in the Mount Errigal Hotel?

This show has attracted large audiences all over Ireland and is fast becoming the most popular source of fund-raising for schools and clubs.

Contestants are drawn from the audience and answer seven questions with four possible answers valued at €100, €200, €300, €400, €600, €800, €1,000.

Three local ‘Chasers’ have been selected to save funds for the local school and stop the challengers on the night.

This incredibly successful show, which is provided by Pallas Marketing Ltd, is being run by Ray NS to assist in fundraising to build a small hall.

The launch night for the show was held in Arena 7 prior to the Pandemic, but it had to be cancelled over the past two years. The school is looking forward to a great night after the long wait.

We spoke to Gillian McElhinney (Parent’s Association Chairperson) about the show.

“We have been in contact with several other groups who ran ‘The Chaser’ around the country with great success,” she explained.

“We are all looking forward to a great night on Friday 13th as the show is really hi-tech and offers a superb night’s entertainment.

“The show is timed to start at 8pm and we would encourage people to come early to ensure a seat.”

Gillian also took the opportunity to say a particular word of thanks to their exhibitors Browne’s Gala, Grove Furnishings, Flemings, Tinneys Oil, Arena Seven, Bizzprint and Pallas marketing and to all of those who have taken out advertising at the show.

There is still some large screen digital advertising space available for the show, please contact raynschaser@gmail.com for further information.

Tickets for “The Chaser” are available from any member of the fundraising committee and must be purchased in advance of the night.

They are also available online using the following link

The pupils in Ray NS are preparing for the show to see if they will be up for the task!

Who will make Friday 13th a lucky day?
