Lough Swilly RNLI volunteers this morning rescued a yacht which had become tangled in lobster pot lines.

The lifeboat was tasked at 11.17am by Malin Head Coast Guard to assist the vessel with two persons onboard.

The yacht’s prop had become tangled on pot lines and had lost power not far from Macamish Bay.

The volunteer crew managed to free the vessel and kept a watchful eye as it made its way to Fahan Marina.

The crew returned to Buncana pier, refueled and made ready for service.

Remember if you’re in difficulty in or on the water, or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
