Gardaí in Donegal have renewed their appeal for information following a tragic crash in Glen on the May Bank Holiday weekend.

A young local woman, aged 17, last night succumbed to her injuries from the collision while in the care of Beaumont Hospital. She has been named locally as Charlotte Kelly from Letterkenny.

The collision, involving a single vehicle, happened on May 1 at Meenformal, Glen, Carrigart at approximately 9.15pm.

Ms Kelly had been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with serious injuries but was then transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

There were three people in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Another person in the car was injured but their injuries were not life-threatening.

Garda Grainne Doherty, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana, today expressed condolences to Ms Kelly’s family.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to road users who were in the area at the time of the crash to contact Milford Garda Station on 0749153060. Anyone with dashcam footage from this stretch of road between 9pm and 9.45pm is asked to provide it to gardaí to assist with the investigation.
