A high visibility road crossing safety scheme is being piloted in the Twin Towns.
The road safety measures were carried out this week in both Ballybofey and Stranorlar and have been welcomed by Councillor Patrick McGown,
One further location at Glenfin Street junction still under consideration.
Cllr McGowan said this busy National Primary N15 road has seen many pedestrians accidents over the years as it is quite difficult to cross the street during peak hours but also during quite times are traffic moves very fast through the towns if there is no tail backs .
This is a pilot scheme and it will need to be monitored to see the effects of traffic flows as well as Benefiting pedestrians, said Cllr McGowan .
He also welcomed recent Government funding of €55,000 to Drumboe Woods to expand car parking facilities and upgrade access road to car park.
