Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit conducted a checkpoint yesterday evening in order to engage with motorcyclists and to provide advice in relation to road safety.

Several motorcyclists were stopped and, thankfully, all were found to be compliant with road traffic regulations.

They were also all open to having a conversation with Gardaí about road safety.

However, a number of cars were also stopped and one driver was detected driving while disqualified while another tested positive for cannabis.

Court proceedings will follow.
