Sadness as Post Office leaves Creeslough’s Main Street

Today marks the end of an era as Creeslough Post Office will close their doors on the village’s main street where it has been located for over 100 years.

The Creeslough Community Association (CCA) asked people to join them yesterday at the office to show their appreciation to Grace Cannon (Postmistress for 20+ years) and Annemarie Ryan for their decades of service.

Danny Lafferty’s supermarket in Creeslough.

Today’s closure will be all the more poignant as it marks the 21st Anniversary of the passing of Mrs Agnes Lafferty.

Agnes was a well known and respected member of the Creeslough Community and was Postmistress for almost 50 years.

The post office has now moved but will remain in the community where Annette Lafferty will take over the family business.
