Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for Donegal this evening.
Even with the higher temperatures, scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening with localised downpours leading to poor driving conditions.
The yellow warning is in place from 2pm today (Tuesday 16th May) and is valid until 9pm tonight with areas in Donegal expected to be affected along with areas in Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Sligo, Roscommon, Westmeath, Longford and Offaly also expected to be hit by the stormy weather.
