An investigation is underway after a car was stolen and burnt out in Letterkenny town centre on Monday night.

The incident began on the High Road, where a silver Mercedes (reg: 05CE3630) was stolen from outside a house.

The car was later found burnt out on the Ballyraine road in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí have issued an appeal to the public for any dashcam footage or any information which may help them trace the car’s movements overnight.

Anyone with dashcam footage from the Ballyraine Road between 2.45am and 3.50am is asked to make it available to gardaí at Letterkenny Garda Station on 0749167100.
