Horse Racing returns to Ramelton this Sunday

The return of Horse Racing at Ramelton commences at the Hillsbrough House this Sunday at 2pm.

The Northwest Horse and Pony Racing has become a great breeding ground for Donegal jockey’s over the last 20 years.

The likes of Martin Harley, Conor Orr (above) and Oisin Orr, Luke Mc Ateer, Dylan Browne McMonaglehave all began here and have had great success over the last few years.

Meanwhile, Letterkenny youngster Brandon Wilkie had his first winner in Catterick in England last week for Tim Easterby.

And young jockeys like Patrick McGettigan are looking to follow in the footsteps of these top riders who are all making a big names for themselves in the bigger ranks.

Patrick Mc Gettigan, who was on the mark at Dartfield Loughrea Co.Galway last Sunday on board Batman.

Patrick, from Ballyare, got his first winner in Galway last weekend at just 13 years of age in the Future Stars beginners race on board Batman and is looking for further success this Sunday at Hillsborough House Ramelton with a 2pm start. Eircode is F92 V596.

Refreshments and Bookmakers will be available on course.
