Investigations are underway to determine the source of a foul smell in Dungloe town centre.
Local residents and businesses on the main street have had to deal with an unpleasant stink on a continuing basis, according to Cllr Micheal Mac Giolla Easbuig. The smell reappeared on Wednesday.
“I’ve been around some of the businesses and I could experience that myself,” the local councillor said.
Cllr Mac Giolla Easbuig met with a senior water engineer with Donegal County Council yesterday and is awaiting the results of a report from water staff on the matter. He has also asked for meetings with Irish Water in relation to the local treatment plant at Pole Road.
