Dromore National School in Killygordon has made a major step forward in its plans for an extension.
The school has now received approval to proceed to construction under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.
The project will consist of an SEN classroom and two SET rooms.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue, has welcomed the news.
The Minister commented “This confirmation is fantastic news for the school community and will improve the offering and services of the school.
“I thank Minister Norma Foley for confirming the news and for the work of the principals, the staff, students and parents of the schools for progressing these projects.
“I thank Cllr Patrick McGowan for their continued hard work with the schools and the communities too.”
