Burglars left a house completely ransacked in Ballybofey when they turned on taps and showers in a house leaving it completely flooded.
The burglars struck at Glenpatrick Place on May 27th last between 7pm and 7.45pm when the family had left their home for a short period of time.
The burglars entered and ransacked the house and destroyed a number of items including a television.
However, the suspects also caused substantial flood damage to the house by turning on taps in both upstairs and downstairs bathrooms.
Gardai say the only item that appears to have been stolen from the house was a broadband box.
Garda Sergeant Charlene Anderson said they would like to hear from any residents in the area who may have noticed anybody acting suspiciously around the time.
She said two males wearing dark clothing were spotted in the area around the time of the attack.
