A total of eleven drivers have been caught doing in excess of 100kph in speeding zones by Donegal Gardai yesterday.
One of the drivers nabbed also tested positive for driving while under the influence of cocaine.
The operation took place in and around Letterkenny.
Members of the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit carried out the blitz and have issued Fixed Charge Penalty Notices for speeding offences.
One driver was stopped for a speeding offence in a 50KPH speed zone in which there are ongoing roadworks. The driver then tested positive for cocaine and an arrest was made.
Gardai pleaded “Do not take unnecessary risks on the roads. Get home safely this evening. Slow down.”
