A multi-agency search for a missing person in Rathmullan ended this morning with the welcome news that they were found safe and well.
The alert was raised this morning at approx 4.30am when authorities received a report of a person missing in Rathmullan.
Lough Swilly RNLI was paged by Malin Head Coast Guard Radio to launch their In-Shore Lifeboat to help in the search.
Shortly after, the All-Weather Lifeboat was also paged.
“After a short search, it was reported the person was found safe and well,” said a spokesperson for the RNLI volunteer crew.
Both boats returned to Buncrana, refuelled and made ready for service.
“Remember if you’re in difficulty or see someone in trouble in or on the water, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard,” the spokesperson added.
