Heavy downpours are expected in Donegal today after Met Éireann has issued a thunderstorm warning for eleven counties.
The Status Yellow warning is in place from 6pm on Friday until 6pm Saturday, warning of heavy showers or longer spells of rain with thundery downpours.
There is also a risk of spot flooding.
Forecasters say the highest rainfall totals are likely to be near the west coast on high ground.
Today, Saturday, will be “unseasonably wet and windy” with highest temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees.
Tonight will bring further spells of rain and showers across the Ulster province. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with moderate to fresh southwesterly or variable winds, strong along coasts.
Tomorrow looks set to bring similar wet and stormy conditions. Met Eireann forecasts: “A mix of sunny spells and widespread heavy and possibly thundery showers for tomorrow, Sunday. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.”
