Letterkenny Gardaí have requested that all ‘fit and able-bodied’ people attending tomorrow’s Conwal Graveyard Service to walk.
Hundreds are expected to attend the annual event which takes place at 4pm.
“Parking will be very limited at the graveyard – All fit and able-bodied people attending the Conwall graveyard service are requested to walk.” a garda spokesperson said.
“Those attending are requested to park at O’Donnell park. For those who must drive, a one way traffic system, towards Conwall will be implemented, with through traffic diverted at Newmills Bridge.”
Drivers are requested not to park in the gateways of the graveyard in the event of an ambulance needing access.
Due to a large attendance, please leave in good time to arrive for the service.
When the service ends, and as traffic builds up at Lower Main Street roundabout, congestion will be relieved by diverting traffic up Convent Road.
“Your assistance and patience in this regard is very much appreciated,” the spokesperson concluded.
