An up and coming local band has just been added to the lineup for a major heavy metal tour of Scandinavian and Baltic countries.
‘Ren Marabou and The Berserkers’ is a three-piece Viking metal outfit based in Letterkenny.
Viking is described as a style of heavy metal music characterised by a lyrical and thematic focus on Norse mythology, Norse paganism and the Viking Age.
The band is made up of Ren Marabou (lead guitar/singer), Michael Casserly (bass) and Terence McCann on drums.

They have just been added to a major tour with metal legends Vader who will also be supported by Hate and Thy Disease.
The Letterkenny boys will be providing support on a leg of the ‘Final Declaration’ tour in Denmark, Sweden and Norway from the 8th to the 16th of September.
“Then, the reinforcement will come from Viking metal warriors from Ireland – Ren Marabou and The Berserkers,” Vader stated on their official website.
Speaking to Donegal Daily, band leader Ren said they are honoured to be sharing the stage with these legendary bands.
“Saying we are excited is an understatement,” he said.
“Thank you to everyone over at Creative Music and Massive Music for believing in us – you rule.
“Also, a massive thank you to our management at Split Screen Management, our label United Music Mafia and everyone who has been supporting us so far.”
