Bonagee United faced a long trip home after being dumped out of the Women’s FAI Cup by Cork City.
It was always going to be an uphill task for Chris McNulty’s side as they travelled to the Premier Division side.
And it took less than 10 minutes for Cork to open the scoring through Lauren Singleton, while Christina Dring doubled their lead 10 minutes later.
Aoibhin Donnelly made it 3-0 before half-time and a minute into the second half Chloe Atkinson made it 4-0 with a great strike.
Eva Mangan scored Cork’s fifth goal and Zara Foley made it six.
Laura Shine had a chance to make it seven but Niamh Mailey got down well to save her penalty.
Shine would however have the last laugh as she made it seven, heading home from a corner in the 78th minute.
The quarter-final draw will be made tomorrow (Tuesday 12th July).
