Failed, failed, failed – Pringle votes ‘no confidence’ in Government

Deputy Thomas Pringle has cited a litany of government failures in voting against a motion of confidence in the Government yesterday.

Addressing the Dáil, Deputy Pringle said the Government has failed on most, if not all, of the areas in its Programme for Government.

Deputy Pringle said the Government has failed the people of Donegal on several fronts.

He said “For my constituents in Donegal, you have failed on mica, failed on farming, failed on fishing, failed to protect the vulnerable, failed on transport, failed on broadband, failed on homelessness, failed on public housing, failed on affordable housing, failed on energy, failed on emissions targets.

“You have failed family carers, you have failed Mother and Baby Home survivors, you’ve failed people with disabilities, failed people with mental health issues, failed on Sláintecare, you have failed pensioners, failed to end direct provision, failed on equality and you are failing the children of this State in so many ways, failing the women of this State in so many ways.

“And as we have seen in here over the past fortnight especially, you fail on basic democracy and parliamentary principles consistently. But the people you do represent are doing very well – cuckoo funds, who crucify renters; developers, billionaires – you’re serving them all very well, Taoiseach,” Deputy Pringle said.
