Water tanker brought in due to shortage in East Donegal

A bulk water tanker has been brought in for Killygordon residents this afternoon after the local supply ran out.

Irish Water reports that increased demand is leading to a water outage in Bohanboy and Mullingar in Killygordon.

An alternative water supply in the form of a bulk tanker will be located in Callaghan’s in Bohanboy, Killygordon from 2:30pm this afternoon.

Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil and cool the water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

Seamus O’Brien, Irish Water, commented: “Irish Water understands the inconvenience this outage may cause. We are appealing to the public in Bohanboy, Mullingar and surrounding areas to be mindful of how they use their water at home, as the temperature is set to soar this weekend. We are appealing to customers to help conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible.”
