At least one Donegal Garda station may be used to house Ukrainian refugees.
The Government has paused the sale of a total of 13 disused stations across the country.
One of them is the old Garda station in Cloghan.
The Government has been left with a headache as it has not enough accommodation to house the refugees, 40,000 of whom have arrive din Ireland in recent months.
The Office of public Works manages 2,500 properties across the country and some of these may now be used to house the refugees.
The disused Garda stations were due to be auctioned off but this plan has now been paused with a view to possibly housing refugees in them.
