Met Eireann has issued a thunderstorm warning for Donegal today as the ‘heatwave’ takes a turn.
The sunshine has disappeared, making way for heavy downpours throughout the day. The status yellow alert will last until tonight at 9pm.
There is also a chance of some localised flooding in areas.
The warning is in place for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan, Donegal, Cork, Tipperary, Waterford and Leitrim.
