The Road Safety Authority (RSA) and An Garda Síochána will be joined by Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton to launch a mid-summer road safety appeal in Donegal tomorrow.
The appeal will be outlined at the Donegal campus of Atlantic Technological University in Letterkenny.
An Garda Síochána and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) will be urging road users to take greater care on the roads during what is a high-risk period of the year.
A total of 22 people lost their lives on the roads in August 2021. To date this year 88 people have been killed on the roads, an increase of 28 compared to last year.
Those who will launch the safety appeal include Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Minister Hildegarde Naughton, Road Safety Authority Chairperson, Liz O’Donnell, Road Safety Authority CEO, Sam Waide, and Assistant Commissioner Paula Hilman, Roads Policing and Community Engagement, An Garda Síochána.
