It was another positive result for the village of Carrigart and the parish of Mevagh as they officially opened gtech Carrigart.
The new facility will have eighteen hot desks which will enable locals and visitors work remotely from this new location.
The new facility was the brainchild of local community group Moving Mevagh Forward and a big thank you has to go to Niamh and Seamus McHugh who along with Moving Mevagh Forward steered the project over all the hurdles to the official opening which was performed by Minister Heather Humphries.
Moving Mevagh would like to thank Donegal County Council and Udaras na Gealteacht and HSE for their assistance in making the project possible and also to Deputy Joe McHugh for his input in securing the funding from Minister Humphries department, Social Protection, Rural and Community
affairs.
The overall cost of the project was in the region of half a million euro. The new facility will be managed by An Craoibhin from Tremon under the stewardship of Mary Doherty, Chair of local community group Moving Mevagh Forward, Noel McBride met up with Minister Humphrey TD when she was in Carrigart and thanked her for the financial support.
The pair discussed the next Moving Mevagh Forward project, the long-awaited pedestrian link between Carrigart and Downings and was assured that her Department would be giving the project serious consideration in the third quarter of this year.
