Ukrainian families living in Kilmacrennan were gifted bikes from the Donegal Intercultural Platform.
A Garda spokesperson said: “At the request of the Donegal Intercultural Platform, Garda Mc Hugh and Talbot called to Kilmacrennan on Saturday July 23rd to meet with some members of the Ukrainian community who are living in the area.
“A donation of bikes for some of the Ukranian families in the area had been received and distributed by the Donegal Intercultural Platform.
“A talk was given and translated in relation to road safety and safe cycling. A bicycle safety demonstration was also given.
“A number of other topics were also covered such as basic Irish laws, the role that Gardaí play and information/advice was provided in relation to contacting the emergency services/other support services for help and advice.”
