Gardaí in Buncrana are searching for three people following a hit-and-run crash at the weekend.

On Saturday last, a grey VW Golf, partial registration ‘YNZ’ struck a tree and was stuck in a ditch off a road in Magherabeg, Burnfoot. The crash occurred at approx. 2.45pm.

Nobody was present at the scene of the crash but it was reported that two males and a female had fled the scene on foot following the collision.

Gardaí are keen to speak with the people involved.

The car is believed to have been travelling from Burnfoot village in the direction of the Causeway, Inch Island when the collision occurred.

Anybody who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Gardaí.

A garda spokesperson said: “If anybody was travelling in that area and had a dash cam, we ask them to make the footage available to Gardaí. Gardaí in Buncrana may be reached on 074-9320540.”
