Bollards sought to prevent illegal parking in Castlefin

There have been calls for bollards to be placed in a problematic area of Castlefin village.

Cllr Gary Doherty has called for action to prevent illegal parking on the footpath across from McGlynn’s Restaurant.

Donegal County Council responded to say that the footpath adjacent to Castlefin Garda Station was highlighted to the local authority previously.  The Council contacted the Gardaí in relation to enforcement and possible issuing of parking tickets. Subsequently, double yellow lines along this section of road to deter motorists from parking.

The matter was raised by Cllr Doherty at this month’s Lifford-Stranorlar MD meeting, to which the council said that Gardaí have agreed to monitor the area and issue parking fines as necessary.
