Breaking: Serious collision on Letterkenny-Ramelton road

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a collision on the R245 between Letterkenny and Ramelton.

The collision occurred between a motorbike and a car this Thursday evening at Castleshanaghan, between the Silver Tassie Hotel and Aughnagaddy.

It is understood that a motorcyclist has been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car was treated at the scene.

Gardaí have closed the road as investigations continue.

The road is expected to remain closed until the morning.
