A driver in Letterkenny has been arrested after they were clocked travelling 168kph on the Dual Carriageway.
Gardaí from the Roads Policing Unit detected the vehicle in a 100kph speed zone on Wednesday.
“The driver was arrested and was charged to appear in court,” a spokesperson said.
Also this week, a drug driver was arrested in the Buncrana area. The driver had failed the roadside oral fluid preliminary drug test yesterday evening, testing positive for cannabis.
Gardaí took to Facebook to urge people to slow down, never drink and drink and save lives.
“Too many lives are lost on the roads because of poor decisions when it comes to road safety and too many families are left devastated. We all have a part to play in making our roads safer. Please play your part to help save lives,” they said.
