Donegal County Council is seeking to close a number of busy Letterkenny streets for a week.

The local authority has published a notice that it intends to make an order to temporarily shut Convent Road, Castle Street and Sentry Hill on ‘alternate dates’, between August 22 and 31st.

The closure is to facilitate resurfacing works and to complete the new Cathedral one-way system.

“There are no diversions for these works. There will be local traffic management in place between 22nd and 31 August,” the notice read.

When Convent Road is closed, traffic will flow through Cathedral Road to Castle Street.

When Castle Street is closed, traffic will flow through Convent Road.

When Sentry Hill is closed, there will be no on-street parking for residednts in order to accommodate a two-way traffic system.

Anyone wishgin to object to the closure should make submissions in writing to The Roads Section, Donegal County Council, County House, Lifford, before 4:30pm on Wednesday, August 3.
