Update – the owner of the tent at the centre of an urgent appeal earlier has contacted the coast guard.
They are safe and well.

An urgent appeal has been issued in relation to an unoccupied tent on the south west Donegal coast.
“If you, or someone you know, owns this tent located at Port Pier north of Glencolmbkille, can you contact Malin Head Coast Guard as a matter of urgency by calling 999/112 and asking for the Coast Guard,” a spokesperson for Killybegs Coast Guard said.
The Coast Guard has confirmed it is responding to an ‘ongoing incident, in the Glencolmcille area.
