Inishowen Credit Union has issued a warning to members to be alert for a text scam.
Members of the public have been sent bogus text messages pretending to be from the organisation.
However, a spokesperson said has warned members not to disclose any personal information as this is a scam.
The spokesperson said “We have been made aware of text messages purporting to be from the credit union. The credit union will not send unsolicited texts requesting personal information.
“Do not respond to unsolicited text / SMS messages before independently validating that it is who it says it is from.
“Never give away personal information, account details or security details such as your PIN or online password to anyone.
“Do not clink on a link or attachment from unsolicited emails or text messages.”
