Thieves stole a cash register when they broken into a takeaway in Rathmullan during the bust festival last weekend.
The cash register, which contained a sum of money, was taken from the premises at Pier Road around midnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
It is understood the culprits entered the premises by a window which had been left ajar.
Gardai have appealed to anybody who was in the area at the time to contact officers in Milford who are investigating the crime.
