A Donegal punter turned a €15 flutter into a huge €20,000 win on Bank Holiday Monday.
The anonymous customer placed a €0.50 each-way Lucky 15 in a BoyleSports shop on Monday, a bet which cost a total of €15.
That investment looked like a wise one after victories at Windsor for Cuban Breeze (10/1) and It’s How We Roll (14/1), as well as a win at Carlisle for 16/1 shot Crownthorpe.
It all hinged on the 8.45 at Carlisle, where the stunning run of winners was completed by 10/1 selection Glorious Rio.
That made it four winners from four and allowed the lucky winner to return to the shop and swap their betslip for a jaw-dropping total of €19,326.04.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “We have to hand it to our Donegal customer on their savvy bet because picking four winners out is no mean feat.
“They have over €19,000 to show for it and the winners weren’t exactly well fancied, so we have to say they deserve every cent.”
