Greencastle residents have been greeted with views of a huge cruise liner this morning.
The Azamara Pursuit is at anchor off Greencastle Harbour on Lough Foyle, stopping overnight en route to Derry. The cruise liner is taking holidaymakers on a one-way voyage from Southampton to Dublin.
The liner belongs to the independent Azamara fleet of boutique cruise liners.
The £150M Azamara Pursuit has a capacity of nearly 800 passengers and 400 crew. The huge 592-foot ship has 11 decks – nine of which are passenger-accessible. Onboard, there are seven restaurants, cafes and lounges, a pool, sun decks, and a spa.
She previously sailed for Renaissance Cruises, Swan Hellenic, Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises and Fathom, before undergoing a major refit before a relaunch by Azamara in 2018.
