Jobs: Buncrana hotel hiring Head Chef, Commis Chef and Duty Manager

Job Vacancies: The Lake of Shadows Hotel in Buncrana, Co. Donegal is recruiting a Head Chef, Commis Chef and Duty Manager. The well-established boutique hotel has been operating for well over 30 years.

See below for details on each role:

Head Chef

An opportunity has arisen at the Lake of Shadows Hotel for an experienced Head Chef.  This is a full-time role which includes shifts and weekend work.

This position would suit applicants with at least 5 years’ experience as chef in a busy environment.

Role Requirements:

Have an excellent understanding & comply with all HACCP regulations.  Have 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Have up-to-date knowledge of current food trends and cooking methods.  Excellent leadership, organisational communication & motivational skills.  Ability to work under pressure.  Fluency in English.


Commis Chef

An opportunity has arisen at the Lake of Shadows Hotel for an experienced commis chef.  This is a part-time role which includes shifts and weekend work.

Role Requirements:

Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment using their own initiative and as part of a team. Must be able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Ensure that the food offered is always of the highest standard.  Have experience and knowledge of HACCAP procedures Have excellent culinary experience. Fluency in English.


Duty Manager

An opportunity has arisen at the Lake of Shadows Hotel for an experienced Duty Manager.  This is a full-time role which includes shifts and weekend work.

Role Requirements:

Have a good knowledge of all areas of the hotel and have excellent communications and customer care skills. Have a minimum of two years’ work experience in a similar role.  Due to the nature of the business, this role will involve shifts and weekend work. Fluency in English.
