Killybegs Coast Guard members were in action yesterday for a training exercise off Portnacross pier.
The team was tasked to work together on a simulated search for a fisherman.
“It was a great team effort by all members,” a spokesperson said.
“The scenario was that a man went fishing around the rocks near Portnacross pier and he didn’t return home.
“The casualty dummy was spotted by one of the search teams on the shore, the decision was made that the RIB was needed to recovery the dummy casualty.
“The RIB was launched at Killybegs harbour, it made its way to the casualty, recovered the casualty dummy where an awaiting shore team helped to transfer the casualty from the boat to the slip way at Portnacross.”
